As a Classroom Assistant 3rd Person/Food Service, you will play a vital role in assisting the teacher with implementing child activities, setting up the classroom, and ensuring a safe and efficient learning environment. Join our team today!
Compensation
Location/Hours
- Location: CenClear’s Preschool Center located within Central PA Institute (CPI) in Pleasant Gap, PA
- Working Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm
- Total Hours: Approximately 7 hours per day, totaling 28 hours per week with the opportunity to substitute on Fridays.
- Annual Schedule: Approximately 185 working days per year, primarily during the school year, with mandatory trainings during the summer months.
Responsibilities
- Work with children aged 3 to 5
- Assist the teacher with implementing child activities
- Set up and maintain an organized classroom environment
- Ensure the safety and well-being of students
- Adhere to program regulations and guidelines
- Provide coverage as needed for other duties or positions. Opportunities for coverage within the same or another classroom as Classroom Assistant, Personal Care Aide, etc... The 3rd Person has more flexibility within their positions to be able to provide coverage as needed.
- Additional hours could be provided for duties such as light cleaning, child transportation and break coverage
- Food Service duties will include food preparation, washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing.
- Follow all CACFP (Child and Adult Care Food Programs) regulations and the food service manual.
- Report any unsafe or special conditions that might lead to accidents, fire, etc. to office immediately.
- Maintain a professional attitude and confidentiality concerning information about CenClear staff, children, parents, consumers/clients, and families.
- Attend all required staff meetings and participate in on-the-job training
- Communicate openly with supervisor by reporting any issues, concerns, or problems.
- Practice social responsibility by checking email daily and responding in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or G.E.D.
- Individual must be willing to obtain the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential when offered. This training is paid for by CenClear.
- Working phone in your home
- Documented good physical health.
- Must obtain the following clearances prior to hire: PA State Police Criminal History, PA Child Abuse History, FBI Criminal History, and Mandated Reporting Certificate

Physical Abilities
- Reach overhead.

- Ability to load and push carts from kitchen to classrooms and back.

- Use sweeper and other cleaning apparatus (push and pull).
- Sit on the floor for over thirty minutes.
- Vision and hearing within normal limits.
- Hand wash and rinse dishes using chemical disinfectants.
- Clean various surfaces using chemical disinfectants.
